Steve Wyatt

Picture of Steve WyattI am an author who hates to write and a pastor who understands why many people hate church.

I am also an annoyingly average guy.  With one exception:  I am embracing my often-interrupted life.  Every average guy has inevitable roadblocks, but rather than scramble to avoid them, I am learning to accept them.

My most recent “interruption” was my late wife Cindy’s battle with cancer.

Her diagnosis, treatment and death were the most painful experiences of my life.  To be real about, I’m still trying to find my way through.

That’s a huge goal for me I reach for as I write — I strive to be authentic.

Because life the stuff I write about it.  This blog is about my life.  And it’s focused on how I am trying to leverage my tough experiences into something meaningful.  My philosophy is that the most inspiring faith stories should be told as they are experienced:  raw and unfiltered.  So that’s how I tell my story – as well as the stories of other people I love and admire.

My goal is to create authentic, inspiring content that will inspire you to leverage your ordinary {and often-interrupted life} into a rare response of incredible faith.  So if you are wanting to stop running from, denying and wrestling against the narrative of your life…this blog is for you.

I typically post one to two times a week, as well as my weekly message if you’d like to take an even deeper cut.  The best way to keep up wit h new content is by subscribing to RSS or email notifications.

MY BIO

I have worked in the church my entire career.  I was a Youth Pastor while attending Kentucky Christian University and then a teaching Pastor in various churches in Ohio, Indiana and Arizona.  I am now the Lead Pastor of Christ’s Church at The Crossroads in Anthem, Arizona.

I have written five books, including “Trading Places” and “Stuck in a Small World” published by Standard Publishing {available here}.  If you would like to receive a complimentary copy of my book Lifelifters, just indicate your interest here and I’d be honored to send you one.

I serve as a network coach for Stadia: New Church Strategies and on the publishing committee for Standard Publishing.  I also worked as a consultant for the beacon group, a not-for-profit organization that helps start-up businesses reach their potential.  I enjoy speaking in various corporate environments, banquets, churches and other gatherings.

I was happily married to my best friend, Cindy, until she stopped by heaven to visit Jesus…and decided to stay.  She left behind an adoring husband, six adult children and two granddaughters.  I learned how to love again because of my way-too brief time with that amazing woman.

In my free time, I enjoy biking, golfing and movies.

In my tough times, I am learning to embrace each new experience…by faith.
